Born and raised in BC, Mike Mitchell’s love for fishing started young on family trips. Editor of BC Outdoors Magazine since 2007, he launched the BC Outdoors Sport Fishing TV show in 2010, educating viewers on successful techniques. Co-hosted by experts, episodes share trade secrets, inspire fishing, and foster appreciation for the outdoors.
Milne, with his Big Coast Crew, has spent two decades fishing the West Coast from Haida Gwaii to Vancouver Island. A founding member of Team Kingfisher/Yamaha and a veteran TV producer, they pursue trophy Chinook salmon and a variety of saltwater catches. In summer, they participate in salmon and tuna derbies in the Pacific Northwest, embracing every chance to explore and enjoy the Big Coast.
Nate Clare is from Delta, BC, and spent summers fishing in Campbell River and Vancouver. Since 2015, he’s been exploring Nootka Sound, and with their trophy boat acquired in 2021, the coastal lifestyle is now fully accessible. Tofino holds a special place for his family, and having an annual slip there brings the coast to their fingertips.
Avid fishermen and boater, Jaxon Rausch is from Sidney, BC. Loving the West Coast, Jax spends his summers out on the water in his Double Eagle outfitted in UltraDeck marine flooring, catching Lingcod, Salmon, and all sorts of BC species. The Rausch family has a deep history in fishing and operate the successful business, Jenny's Smoke Shack.
Brody Pigeau has focused his career and life around his inspiration of the outdoors and the ocean. Having lived in the small town of Tofino for nearly 15 years, Brody has become an expert in exploring everything the Clayoquot Sound has to offer. Brody is a fisherman, surfer, snowboarder and wildlife guide. He spends the majority of his summers guiding private fishing charters and wildlife experiences. Recently, he has co-founded the Tofino Adventure Camp, a not-for-profit camp that aims to connect youth with our natural world.
Westcoast Fishing Tackle started in President Jeff Leung’s garage in 2020, when he turned his love for fishing into a business. Inspired by a Tony Robbins video, Jeff taught himself how to airbrush and make lures using YouTube. His dedication quickly caught on, and within three years, Westcoast Fishing Tackle grew to be sold in over 85 stores across British Columbia and the Western U.S., all while sticking to Jeff’s commitment to quality gear for anglers.
Driven by a lifelong passion for the outdoors, Jamie founded High Caliber Custom Jet Boats in 2004, quickly earning a reputation for building performance-driven jet boats. Meet Darren Hill—a proud Vancouver Island native whose love for the outdoors ignited at age four while fishing with his Dad. Over nearly four decades, he’s explored the Pacific Coast from remote Haida Gwaii to Prince Rupert. You can see him on the water in his Custom 470 Stryker RIB! Recently he has plunged into fly fishing, drawn by its calm and focus. Darren balances a career as a full-time contractor with life as a passionate part-time outdoorsman-hiking, hunting, fishing, van-life adventures, and photography are all part of his story. As a Pro Staff team member for Westcoast Fishing Tackle’s Canadian Hunt & Fish, Darren curates his personally vetted “Top Picks™ gear-including Electro Mirror Flashers and Phat-E series spoons-to share the tools he trusts to make every angling outing better.

Based in Vancouver, Jason brings his expertise from years in the marine industry and his role as Director of Product Development with WCFT, where he designs, tests, and refines innovative fishing products. As the owner and operator of Dark Horse Marine Adventures, Jason runs guided charters out of the Lower Mainland aboard his 30ft Weldcraft, putting UltraDeck to the test in real-world conditions.
We’re proud to have Captain Ivan Chu as an UltraDeck ambassador. With over 20 years of guiding experience from local waters to Haida Gwaii, Ivan was one of the first in BC to earn the Certified Tidal Angling Guide designation. Known for his professionalism, passion, and ability to teach anglers of all levels, Ivan puts UltraDeck to the test on the water every day—sharing trusted gear, proven techniques, and a true love for fishing.
In 1952, Blayney Scott and his wife Almeda started a small company in Victoria, British Columbia with the intent of pioneering the use of plastics to manufacture fishing lures and other marine products. From their humble beginnings, Scotty Manufacturing Ltd. evolved to produce thousands of products under the Scotty trademark, focused on the fishing, marine, outdoor and firefighting industries worldwide.
Johnny Jigs brings the passion of real offshore anglers to the Ultradeck family. Born from a game-changing slow-pitch jigging discovery off the Florida Keys, they’ve grown into a trusted tackle brand built on technique, innovation, and the mantra “one more drop.” A perfect fit for UltraDeck’s commitment to performance on the water.
Tyler van Keken is a Vancouver Island based fisherman and the founder of Sea Bums Fishing. Although he grew up around the water fly fishing at a young age with his dad, he didn't fully dive into the sport until his early 20s. Now, with over 15 years of experience navigating and fishing the Pacific Northwest, Tyler creates educational sportfishing content that helps anglers fish smarter, safer, and more confidently. His mission is simple: Help people fall in love with fishing and share knowledge along the way. When Tyler isn't guiding in Winter Harbour or Esperanza, he can be found fishing and creating content on his 1987 Boston Whaler Outrage exploring new areas and chasing fish for the joy of it.
Based in Prince Rupert, Jeff Easingwood runs Clearly Coastal Charters, sharing his love of the ocean with locals and visitors. Originally from the prairies, he fell in love with saltwater fishing and exploring the coast of BC and Alaska. A pro staff member with Westcoast Fishing Tackle, Jeff enjoys introducing newcomers to the ocean and sharing his adventures on YouTube and Instagram.
Based in South Florida, Team Reel Battery brings high energy and serious dedication to every day on the water. From offshore runs to tournament grind, this crew represents performance, passion, and pushing limits. Their experience accumulated, their ambitions grew, and their panga proved capable of far more than they could have expected on the beach that day. So far, the Tsunami Pangas crew have charted over 6,000 nautical miles and spent more than 90 days camping aboard their pangas.

With over 19 years in the marine industry, Brook is a certified marine technician, Mercury & Mercruiser tech, and ABYC electrical and systems certified. Beyond his professional expertise, Brook is a fierce competitor—an accomplished drag boat racer who recently took home two first-place finishes and earned the prestigious US2 award for placing 2nd overall in North America in 2024. Now racing a brand-new custom carbon fibre Formula 1 boat in APBA-sanctioned events, Brook embodies the same passion, precision, and performance that UltraDeck delivers.
Founded on inclusivity for all neurodiverse individuals, Angling 4 Autism Society is dedicated to introducing the joy of fishing to individuals and families in the autism community. Over five years, the organization has grown through the support of volunteers, donors, partners, and sponsors, creating meaningful experiences on the water. As they continue to expand in 2026, Angling 4 Autism Society remains committed to building new relationships and opportunities, sharing the excitement of fishing while fostering connection and community.
