F.A.Q.

What is UltraDeck?

UltraDeck® is a unique premium blend of closed-cell, high-quality PE foam produced for the harsh marine environment. It has very high UV resistance, it’s UV tested to over triple the best marine upholstery vinyl with no fade. Being that it is a closed cell, it does not absorb, so it will never smell and is stain resistant and cleans up very easily. It provides an excellent shock absorbent, sound deadening, non-slip, customizable surface for any vessel. The product is backed with the thickest, highest-grade acrylic-based 3M pressure-sensitive adhesive providing a simple yet durable installation.

What is product warranty?

UltraDeck® itself carries a 5-year warranty from premature product break down. This excludes physical abuse, solvent/oil/fuel damage and staining. As well as incorrect installation resulting in adhesive issues.

Is UltraDeck customizable?

Absolutely, we can produce the package with whatever design/logos you would like with added design costs OR pick from our stocked patterns as well. All of our packages are client pre-approved with proof of the kit so we can be 110% sure it is exactly what you have in mind.

How do you clean UltraDeck?

We recommend Simple Green HD and a medium stiff deck brush (both available at Home Depot) to clean the product. Mist cleaner on, let soak, brush with a medium/firm brush with the grain, and rinse. Do not use a pressure washer in close contact, with acid-based cleaners or solvents with UltraDeck® as it will damage the product.

How do I get a flooring package produced?

If you want a kit produced and installed professionally please see our dealer map and contact your nearest installer. We can also handle all your needs at our facility in Vernon, BC if it is convenient. Otherwise, we can assist you with a DIY process which is relatively straightforward if you have a good eye for detail.

Can I template and install the product myself?

If you have a good eye for detail and can follow our directions, absolutely. We have PDFs to cover both processes here. Template kits are available by request with information on the space such as rough SQ ft required. Feel free to email us for more info.

What does the product cost?

Cost varies per job as the product is billed out per machined sheet (39”x79”) and what we can fit into the space. 599$ per machined sheet, cost includes kit design time, machining, and premium industrial 3M adhesive backer. Boat Branding logos are free of charge with the exception of our partnered factory-installed builders. Kit cost example, the average mid-sized tow boat package of grid, pass through, tops of gunnels bow/stern, cockpit floor runs $2369 CAD ( $1850 US ) on average. Plus tax and installation. Custom company logos are always possible with added processing costs. We strive to be able to recreate what you envision for your vessel.

Where are your dealers?

We have tons of valued dealers across the country! Locate the one closest to you by visiting our dealer page.

What is the lifespan of your products?

With average use and care, UltraDeck® will last 7-10 + years. Longer life can be expected if the boat is covered and/or well-taken care of. With a few of our pacific northwest private fishing charter clients now over the 4000+ hour mark of use on their vessel and their UltraDeck is in fantastic condition we are confident you are purchasing the most durable product possible.

What colours are available?

View our products page to see all available colour options!

Will UltraDeck stain?

The product is very stain resistant, food, beverages, dirt, and fishing messes all clean out of UltraDeck® if they are handled properly and in a timely manner.

What can UltraDeck be installed over?

UltraDeck® bonds over many clean and properly prepped surfaces. Gel Coat, smooth & nonskid (with prep).  Painted surfaces, must be completely off-gassed if freshly painted. Aluminum, smooth and checker plated. We have also had good success bonding to the textured vinyl floors commonly seen in river/jet boats, with the correct prep. Contact us for more info or questions if you’re unsure of your substrate.

Do you have my boat on file?

Our file base of stocked boats grows weekly, feel free to send us an email to see if we already have a cad image of your vessel on hand. Otherwise, the boat will have to be brought onsite or to a dealer for templating.

How is UltraDeck removed?

Care must be taken when removing the product. If the surface is painted, you must check in a hidden area to see its resistance to solvents. With a gel coat or aluminum, UltraDeck® can be removed by getting a pad edge up with a putty knife (plastic or metal) and slowly working the mat with mineral spirits. The surface being warm assists with the process as well.

There will be residual adhesive left behind, soaking a rag with the solvent and keeping the surface wet will break down the PSA in 10-15 min. Then using a plastic putty knife the PSA is easily removed.

Do you accept new resellers, dealers, or builders?

Absolutely, If you are in the marine industry and have an excellent eye for detail we are always looking for quality facilities to carry our product. Contact us for more information and a dealer application.
